SGI Featured Friend: Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife

August 24, 2014

The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife hopes to restore and reconnect sage grouse habitat in eastern Washington by capturing and releasing sage grouse from Oregon and Nevada in the Swanson Lakes Wildlife Area of Lincoln County.  By working with the Sage Grouse Initiative, private landowners, and other partners =, the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife produces and carries out the recovery plan for sage grouse, monitors populations, and improves sage-grouse genetic diversity.
