As a Biologist (Endangered Species), with specific emphasis on sagebrush ecosystems and Sage Grouse conservation, you will be responsible for preparing and reviewing biological implications of environmental assessment/impact statements to evaluate environmental consequences of proposed actions on Federal projects; conducting biological or ecological investigations; and carrying out Fish and Wildlife Service responsibilities arising from the Endangered Species Act, Fish and Wildlife Coordination Act, National Environmental Policy Act, Bald and Golden Eagle Act, Migratory Bird Treaty Act and numerous other Federal laws, policies and administrative regulations.  For additional information about the Nevada Fish and Wildlife Office, visit their website at:

This is a term position with an initial appointment not-to-exceed 13 months.  However, this position may be non-competitively extended without further announcement for a total appointment not-to-exceed 2 years.

The full performance level of this position is GS-11.  If selected at the GS-9 grade level, you may be promoted without further competition to the GS-11 level when fully qualified and recommended by the selecting official.  However, promotion is not guaranteed and no promise of promotion is implied.
